Insho-tei Japanese Restaurant, Ueno

韻松亭(上野)

Insho-tei was founded in 1873 (Meiji 8). Since Insho-tei was adjacent to the bell tower of Kan'ei-ji Temple寛永寺, the first director of the Tokyo National Museum, Machida Hisanari, 町田久成 liked the sound of the bell echoing in the pine trees, and named it Insho-tei. In the 140-year history of Insho-tei, Yokoyama Taikan 横山大観 was also listed as the restaurant owner.

Located a 10-minute walk from JR Ueno Station.
